hazard identification (HAZID)

The process of identifying potential sources of harm, danger, or adverse effects in a specific environment, activity, or system. It is an essential step in risk assessment and management, as it helps to identify and understand the risks associated with certain conditions or practices. The goal of hazard identification is to recognize and document potential hazards so that appropriate measures can be implemented to prevent or mitigate their impact.
